Single Pole Tents

Single Pole Tents Pole Tent refers to a tent that features a set of individual poles established beneath the fabric roof to support and define the silhouette of the configuration. The fabric roof is tensioned over the poles and attached to ropes and/or cables at designated spots around the fabric's edges. Ropes keep the canopy stretched tight and are anchored to the ground by means of stakes or weights around the boundary of the tent. A pole tent has classic lines, graceful peaks and dips. It is unfettered and clean underneath.

Pole Tents are supposed to be the grandfather of the tent industry, and were once the only type of tent available. Though they have lost ground to newer designs, pole-supported tents remain popular through out the world and are still considered a significant part of most tent inventories.

Pole tents are comprised of a vinyl canopy top supported by side and center poles. Since, these tents are anchored in the ground by staking, the tension maximizes and creates a nice, taut appearance. In recent years, high-tension ratchets or winches have replaced the standard ropes on pole tents. Thus modern pole tents are often referred to as tension tents. Sweeping tents with taller poles also come under this category. These are sometimes called high-peak tension tents, and offer wonderful interior views as well as strongly engineered tents capable of handling substantial wind, rain or snow loads.

Pole Tents have evolved with the introduction, primarily from Europe, of the heavy-duty clear span structures. Much like buildings with integrated vinyl skins, these structures are an excellent product for long-term, heavy-duty installations. Traditional pole tents remain very popular. They use a combination of center and side poles that are anchored to the ground. Pole tents can span large areas and may be dressed with a variety of elegant interior accessories. These pole tents may also be used in conjunction with other tent styles to create a unique and versatile environment.

Various Features of Pole Tents
  • Versatile and Economical
  • Fast set-up and teardown
  • Numerous decorating options
  • Create large enclosed environments with other tents
Pole tents, with their sweeping, peaked roofs, are the most traditional option, as well as the least expensive. Because of their staking system, these tents are ideal on grass or sand, but can be installed on asphalt with drilling. These tents have got just one draw back, which is that, their center poles take up space and block views.
